Jeff Cobb, who won PWG’s 2018 Battle of Los Angeles and continues to improve with each and every passing week, is reportedly set for a big push in Ring of Honor according to PWInsider.
The 36 year old, who has been in this business for less than a decade, has been making some serious noise around the world of professional wrestling as of late. Cobb’s all-around ability and presence in the ring makes him one of the more notable non-WWE talents currently out there, and his star seems as if it’ll only continue to rise.
In the report, it’s suggested that Cobb will be splitting the majority of his time between both Lucha Underground and Ring of Honor after he concludes his current commitments.
It’s always seemed obvious that someone like Cobb could become a huge star, dating back to when he first appeared as Matanza in Lucha Underground.
As the independent scene outside of WWE gets bigger and bigger it feels like he could be a big part of the movement, especially given that he could fill a current void in the Hawaiian market. It’s clear to see that he’s gaining more recognition amongst different promoters from around the world, too, and that can only be a good thing.
Although he’s already 36, if Cobb can keep this upward trajectory of his going, then there’s every chance that WWE will come calling – whether it be with an NXT contract or an automatic promotion up to the main roster where many people feel he belongs.
