WWE Reportedly In Contact With Former Divas Champion For Return

Melina might have been a surprising name to see featured on the leaked Evolution card but it turns out that there could be a reason for that and WWE might just be penciling her name in on the assumption they will be able to close a deal by the October event. She captured the Divas Title twice and the Women’s Title 3-times during her run with the company, and maybe she has more in the tank.
Joe Peisich said on the Barnburner Fired Up podcast said that Melina’s return to pro wrestling in winning a title last week in Australia means could be followed by a WWE return soon enough.

“You mentioned Melina, they are in contact with Melina who by the way won a title in Australia last week. She has been impressive and they may look for her not only for a one-time only deal to sign a short-term deal with WWE.”

Only time will tell if Melina will make her return or how impactful she will be. But since she was kind of snubbed on Raw 25 and the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble, maybe this will be a good thing to have her back for a short stint so we can see what she still has in the tank. It will also be cool to watch her enjoy the WWE Women’s Revolution first-hand.
