AJ Styles Draws Attention Thanks To His SummerSlam Ring Attire

AJ Styles has been known to sport Georgia Bulldog red to the ring and he’s worn blue as a representative of SmackDown Live. But when he approached the ring at SummerSlam to defend the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe, he was sporting a much different color than ever before.

Styles was sporting a purple and grey get-up complete with purple gloves. The Internet Wrestling Community immediately realized his tribute to The Undertaker as the inspiration to his gear.

The idea of AJ Styles vs The Undertaker might be enough to make any wrestling fan happy, but it was Samoa Joe who took Styles to the limit in Brooklyn. Some people are saying this style choice by Styles was a tribute to Jim Neidhart and Natalya too. Either way, it was a pretty cool decision for a special occasion.

The actual reason AJ Styles gave for this clothing color choice in an interview this afternoon was that they simply got the color wrong when they were making his ring attire so he went with it.
