Sasha Banks Reveals What Match She Wants for Evolution PPV

Ahead of WWE SummerSlam, RAW Superstar Sasha Banks had the opportunity to speak with Cathy Kelley for WWE Now. During an exclusive boat ride, Banks gave an insight into her favorite SummerSlam moments, her goals in wrestling and what match she wants at WWE Evolution.

On a match for Evolution, Banks confirmed to Kelley and the viewers at home that she wishes to go one-on-one with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. If that isn’t possible, an alternative would be her & Bayley vs. Stratus & Lita.

“I’m scared what the matchups are going to be. Cos, I don’t want to be like ‘Hey, can I wrestle Trish Stratus?’ Then I don’t get it and cry my eyes out. I would love for it to be myself and Bayley versus Trish and Lita. Woah! But that would be my dream match. If I don’t have a singles with Trish, hopefully we have a tag match against her and Lita. You just never know, they’ve announced over 50 women. And it’s so cool we are having an all-women’s PPV. It’s about time. It’s about time.”

Banks confirmed what her favorite matches from SummerSlam history are.

“All time would have to be Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon. But for myself would be last year when I defeated Alexa Bliss. I broke my Brooklyn curse and I became a four-time RAW Women’s Champion. That was really cool. That was such a big moment for me- because like you said before, Brooklyn has almost become like my second home because of the Barclays Center. It’s kind of sad this is our last year before we go to LA for SummerSlam.”

Finally, Banks commented on her goals in wrestling. Besides the obvious WrestleMania main event match, Banks interestingly explains that she wants to be the RAW GM and have some relation to Teddy Long’s character.

“For me, it is to main event WrestleMania. That is a goal. That is a dream. Because that is one of those things that you can say it out loud, and really, back in the day, people would just laugh at you. Even if you mentioned a woman main eventing WrestleMania, but now there is that potential that we can do that. I know that I could, and I know that so many women could. We would just want to make it amazing because we want to make everything amazing. There are little goals for me, like becoming the Raw GM because, like, I grew up watching that. I used to dream of like having Teddy Long being my godfather. I always dreamt about that too. I would come as a little kid and be his bad niece or whatever. So that would be cool, I’d make so many tag matches. ‘Holla, holla, holla!’ I just have little dreams like that. The big one is main eventing WrestleMania… and having a match against Trish Stratus. Did you hear that?”
