While reportedly brought back to WWE to be a glorified enhancement talent, Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at Backlash last year. He held the Championship through until just prior to Survivor Series, when AJ Styles defeated him on SmackDown Live to capture the title.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet took to his Twitter account to comment on a hilarious gimmick pitch Mahal was given when returning to WWE. While this never came to fruition, any discussion of character changes can have a huge effect on a wrestler’s career.
According to Satin, the idea when Mahal re-signed with WWE was to have him work as a self-appointed authority figure on WWE TV. He would go by “The Mahal Monitor” and work similarly to what Baron Corbin is doing on RAW as Constable Corbin now.

It is worth noting the similarities between the role Mahal is currently playing on television and the reported role he initially was set to perform. Mahal seems to work more as a meditator and mediator backstage to talent, as shown in segments on RAW. This may be an updated version of the original pitch.
Would you rather Constable Corbin or The Mahal Monitor as your self-appointed authority figure? Does the pitch sound interesting to you? Sound off in the comments below.
