Matt Riddle has reportedly signed a contract with WWE.

Brad Shepard broke the news on the latest installment of The No Holds Barred podcast that top indie star Matt Riddle has signed with the company and could possibly appear at NXT Takeover next month.

“Matt Riddle has signed. He pulled out of BOLA and some other independent shows. Trevor Lee is taking his place at the Battle of Los Angeles, which is September 14th. So he’ll probably make an appearance at Brooklyn/SummerSlam and if not he’s expected to start after that.”

As noted earlier in the week, WWE has been interested in signing Riddle and they want him to appear on the NXT brand. There was also talk that New Japan was interested in him but it looks like he’s should be popping on up WWE television in the very near future.
