Last weekend at Dominion, “Big Mike” aka Michael Elgin won the NEVER Openweight Championship in a triple-threat bout against champion Hirooki Goto, and challenger Taichi. Mike scored the winning pinfall on Taichi in the matchup after a spinning Elgin Bomb. Since he never pinned the champion, Goto was able to invoke a one-on-one rematch with Mike which took place last evening at night 2 of NJPW’s Kizuna Road.

Hirooki won the title back after a vicious back and forth affair that eventually saw him land the GTR, and capture the NEVER Openweight for the 3rd time in his career. However, he didn’t have long to celebrate.

That’s Jeff Cobb, also known as the Monster Matanza from Lucha Underground, who stared Goto down claiming himself as the next challenger.
