The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith’s son Davey Boy Smith Jr is following in his father’s footsteps in a lot of ways. But it’s questionable if Davey Boy Sr would have thrown coffee in Jake Roberts’ face in the middle of WrestleCon.
But Davey Boy Smith Jr did throw coffee in Roberts’ face during WrestleCon over WrestleMania Weekend and Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that New Orleans police are investigating the 2nd generation pro wrestler in a battery case.
The NOLA Police Department issued a statement regarding the incident saying:
“The NOPD is investigating a simple battery incident that occurred on April 7, 2018 in the 500 block of Canal Street. The victim told police that at about 11 a.m., he was signing autographs at the location when he was approached by a known subject, later identified as Harry Smith (DOB: 08-02-1985). The victim told police he attempted to shake hands with Smith, at which time a verbal argument ensued. Smith then allegedly threw a cup of coffee at the victim’s face and fled the scene. No major injuries were reported by the victim.”
Davey Boy Smith Jr. discussed the entire incident with Wrestle Zone where he said that he had asked Jake Roberts to take back some statements the WWE Hall Of Famer had made about his father the British Bulldog. When Roberts denied this request and didn’t agree to go outside and settle things he told Smith to “fuck off” so he tossed the coffee in Jake’s face.
At this point, Davey Boy Smith Jr is “wanted for battery in connection with this incident” so only time will tell where this story could lead next.
