Ahhyessir, the Superstar Shakeup is nearly upon us. Everyone is worried about how the changes will affect everyone. Some people don’t want certain superstars to leave. That’s fair. I really hope that a few people stay where they are.

That said, there are some people who absolutely need a change in scenery. They need a change. When all is said and done in this Shakeup, these superstars seriously need to switch brands.

dean ambrose

It was clear as day that Dean Ambrose was only moved in the Superstar Shakeup so they could reunite the Shield. That went swimmingly, if I dare say so myself. It got canned after two months. Alas, such is life.

There was still so much for Dean to do on Smackdown. Since he was moved to Raw, he’s been playing second fiddle to someone else (Miz, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns). He was the first Grand Slam member of the Shield, but that felt like an accident.

His WWE Championship run was too short, but AJ Styles was red hot at the time, so I get that Ambrose had to drop it to him. But Ambrose was a star on Smackdown. He made his name there. Hopefully he can return and fight the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, and Daniel Bryan.

chad gable and shelton benjamin

Benjamin and Gable have done all there is to do in Smackdown’s tag team division. Make of that what you will. Smackdown definitely has the better tag team division, but even then, there’s nothing left for Gable and Benjamin.

By moving to Raw in the Superstar Shakeup, Gable and Benjamin could inject new life and energy into a so-so tag team division. The addition of the Authors of Pain and Woken Matt and Wyatt should also help.

Imagine if Benjamin and Gable were to lock horns with the likes of Gallows and Anderson or Titus Worldwide. Those sound like interesting match-ups.

Another thing I’d be super stoked to see is Benjamin and Gable facing off against Woken Hardy and Bray Wyatt. The amateur wrestlers playing straight men to the absurdity of Hardy and Wyatt would make for entertaining television.

Dolph ziggler

There is nothing else for Dolph Ziggler to do on Smackdown. Barring Ziggler joining a tag team with Mike Kanellis or something, he’s done it all. The Superstar Shakeup would be the perfect opportunity to give the Showoff some new opponents.

What if Ziggler were to face off against Seth Rollins? That would be cool and exciting. He could also fight the Miz (just kidding). There’s a whole slew of people Ziggler’s never faced. Finn Balor. Bobby Lashley.

By moving to Raw, Ziggler could also feud with new NXT callup No Way Jose, as is tradition. After all, is an NXT callup really an NXT callup unless he fights Dolph Ziggler? I don’t think so.

The point is, Dolph Ziggler has exhausted all his options on Smackdown, I feel. The Superstar Shakeup should send Ziggler to a new brand.

finn balor

I’ve written before about how Balor needs to move to Smackdown, and I still feel the same way. The Superstar Shakeup is a chance to make it happen. If Smackdown’s main event scene remains largely untouched, Balor would fit in with AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Imagine a fatal four-way between those guys. It would be heaven. Balor could also face off against the likes of Baron Corbin, Randy Orton, and Mike Kanellis.

You’d think that the first ever Universal Champion would have a bit of luck in getting another match for the title, but that hasn’t happened yet. Don’t know why. And with the way Raw’s roster is shaping up, Balor could get lost in the shuffle (again). Raw’s roster is really top heavy.

A move to Smackdown could help Balor stand out and become the star he is.
