We just finished Wrestlemania 34, and what a ride it was. There were some high points, and some low points as well. Some matches were surprisingly good, and some weren’t as good as many had hoped. One match only lasted three minutes, and three championship matches were less than ten minutes.

There’s a lot to say, so let’s get straight into it.

sami zayn and kevin owens are fired

Yes, Daniel Bryan made his triumphant comeback in the very same city where he beat Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista all in the same night. After nearly three years away from the ring, Daniel Bryan returned to action, and it looks like he hasn’t lost a step.

We’re not going to talk about Daniel Bryan, though.

Bryan challenged Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to a match at Wrestlemania 34, with the stipulation being that if they won, they would be re-hired to Smackdown; That did not happen. Instead, Zayn tapped out to the Yes Lock, and now the two Canadian buddies are certifiably jobless.

Where do we go from here? Do they go back to Raw? Is there some sort of loophole that allows them to remain on Smackdown? Ideally, though, they would move back to the red brand. The feud is officially over. Let it die.

jinder mahal is the new united states champion

I for one am not exactly pleased with this match result. The match itself was fine for what it was. Not bad.

The victor, though, I’ve got lots to say about.

Why on God’s green earth is Mahal holding a title again? Why are people still falling for the old “Singh Brothers” distraction? And why did Randy Orton drop the title so early?

The way I see it, if Randy isn’t moving back into the World title picture, then are we to have a rehash of 2017 with Orton v. Mahal? While the matches weren’t bad at all, I feel this is the one rivalry people don’t feel like revisiting.

And if not Orton, then who? I guess Mahal could defend it against the likes of Tye Dillinger, Zack Ryder, and Sin Cara. Unless they plan to turn Rusev face and have him vanquish the Maharajah, there’s not a lot of people for Mahal to face.

I’m also mad that we didn’t see a Randy Orton Open Challenge, but such is life.

asuka’s streak is over

We knew it had to happen; we just didn’t know when. But at Wrestlemania 34, the impossible happened when Asuka tapped out to the Figure 8. Charlotte ended Asuka’s streak. While Charlotte isn’t the worst person to have ended the streak (it could have been Alexa Bliss or Shayna Baszler; we’re lucky it was Charlotte), I’d rather someone else have ended it.

Where does Asuka go from here? Does she stay on Raw? Who will she face next?

The way I see it, though, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.  The Empress is no longer invincible. While she definitely isn’t going to be losing all of her matches from here on out, now her feuds will be a tad less predictable.

a shinsuke nakamura heel turn

I don’t quite understand just yet, but Nakamura shocked the world when he lost to AJ Styles. He then shocked the world again when he punched AJ Styles in the dick and then hit him with a Kinsasha after the match.

Why, though? Smackdown’s got a dearth of top faces now. I thought that the trio of Nakamura, Styles, and Orton would be able to hold down the fort. Now, they’re one man down. But with the absence of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, I guess a top heel was needed (why they didn’t just turn Roode heel, I don’t know).

I guess their feud is going to be extended for a month or two. If their rematch (there has to be one) can be better than their Wrestlemania 34 showdown, maybe people will feel better.

If anything, the main event picture of Smackdown looks to be exciting for the next few months. Whether WWE pulls the trigger on Nakamura is another question altogether.

brock lesnar retains

I almost feel bad that I thought this match was going to be good, because it wasn’t. It was just Roman kicking out of F-5’s and what not. The Goldberg match was much better than this. Goldberg got way more offense in, and the match was like five minutes long. Reigns – Lesnar 2: Electric Boogaloo went on for fifteen minutes. Nothing wrong with fifteen minute matches, but if it’s as one-sided as this was, then maybe they could have shaved off ten or so minutes.

What’s next for the Universal Championship? I don’t know.

What’s next for Brock Lesnar? I don’t know.

What’s next for Roman Reigns? I really don’t know.

Guess we have to watch Raw.
