Backstage Update on Hideo Itami’s Status with WWE

During the mailbag segment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about Hideo Itami’s contract status with WWE. The reader pointed out that his contract with WWE was only for three years when he signed and asked Dave if he has resigned or not. While Dave couldn’t confirm if Hideo has resigned, he did point out that Hideo isn’t going anywhere right now.

“Probably, I don’t know but he’s not going anywhere right now,” said Meltzer.

As previously reported, it was heavily rumored back in November of last year that Hideo could be heading back to Japan once his contract ran out. Meltzer pretty much confirmed that’s no longer happening.
