While discussing the WWE Championship title match for WrestleMania on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that if AJ Styles loses the championship title against Nakamura, that there is a good chance that Styles could be headed to the RAW brand.
“Nakamura is getting a world title match at next month’s pay-per-view. He probably shouldn’t be losing. I guess you could argue that if he wins, and then they move AJ over to the other side. Which it wouldn’t shock me to see AJ move because they were going to do that last year anyways. How many times can we watch AJ vs. Kevin Owens anyways?”
Meltzer explained how normally when WWE moves a top guy from one brand that they need someone as equally qualified to fill that spot. Meltzer named Seth Rollins as a possible replacement for Styles if they do decide to move him over to RAW.
Although if they move AJ, they better move somebody good to the other side. Maybe Seth? That could be one of the big moves, I am speculating. When they do the moves, they usually — at least one key person from each side will probably move. If AJ is going to move, then Nakamura could win the championship, which would be something. Who would they go with, Nakamura and Owens? Nakamura and Randy Orton? Nakamura did have a hell of a match with Randy Orton on TV the one time they worked. There are a lot of different ways. We will see what happens.”
