As previously reported, Rey Mysterio may have suffered a torn biceps injury while teaming with Flip Gordon in a tag match against Joey Mercury & Caleb Konley in Waterbury, Connecticut for Northeast Wrestling.

Dave Meltzer discussed the injury on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and mentioned that Mysterio doesn’t necessarily have to get the surgery to fix the torn biceps. Guys have worked with torn biceps before and he could still do the Long Beach show and start with WWE sometime after WrestleMania.

“I don’t know what decision he’s going to make. WWE usually wants talents to get the surgery,” Meltzer explained.

The belief is that if he does get the surgery, Mysterio could be out of action for about six-months. Things are up in the air right now until further information regarding the extent of his injury is available.
