Update on WWE Possibly Having an NXT Match at WrestleMania

During the mailbag segment of today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about previous rumors of WWE possibly holding an NXT match on the WrestleMania card and was wondering if it was still possible.

Meltzer explained that with NXT Takeover taking place the night before, it’s very unlikely that WWE would have an NXT match or NXT Championship match at WrestleMania.

“I seriously doubt it now. They aren’t going to have enough time for what they need to have. It’s going to be one of those 7-hour shows and an NXT show the night before anyways. I would really would be surprised if they did that. They may have someone from NXT in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal or something. If they have a Women’s Battle Royal, they may have a few NXT women in there as well. As far as NXT Championship matches, I would think no.”
