Ross welcomes Josh Barnett to the show.

Barnett and Ross will voiceover the NJPW WrestleKingdom 12 event in January and they’re both very exited about the opportunity to do so. Barnett informs that he never watches matches or clips before calling the action because he wants to watch the action for the first time as he’s making the call. Ross agrees entirely and says he does the exact same thing.

Barnett says if he was Conor McGregor he’d definitely fight again. For him, having made the money that McGregor has recently would take the pressure off and he’d just be able to fight for the love of fighting. Perhaps, McGregor has different motivations however, and he mighn’t be interested in fighting unless he’s paid what he feels he’s deserved.

He also wouldn’t be surprised to see Conor McGregor make an appearance in WWE in the near future, but he hopes that McGregor appreciates and respects the business if he’s lucky enough to work for WWE at some point.

Barnett also thinks Ronda Rousey will make a great addition to WWE’s roster and he feels her training in Judo will make for a natural transition to professional wrestling.

Ross welcomes Kevin Nash to the show.

Nash informs that his goal was always to make it to WWE once he started training to become a professional wrestler. He was lucky enough to make it to WWE and live his dream, but all those years of wrestling took a toll on his body. He recently had a complete knee replacement and he hopes to have more mobility after his rehab concludes.

Speaking about the rumoured return of the XFL, Nash thinks the original XFL was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Vince McMahon doesn’t want any black marks on his track record, and Nash thinks this is McMahon’s way of trying to fix his previous failure. Ross believes that Triple H is next in line to take over for McMahon at the helm of WWE and Nash agrees, adding that his friendship with Triple H has nothing to do with his opinion in this matter.

Nash recalls a conversation he had with McMahon at WrestleMania a few years ago. McMahon told him that when Nash was breaking into the business all the talents were fighting for the WWE Championship. Nowadays, all the wrestlers follow McMahon around waiting for him to anoint them Champion and that’s a big difference from years gone by.

Nash informs that he will proably work until the day he dies, but nowadays he wants to work on his own terms. Fans constantly ask him about returning to WWE, even as a commentator or something of that nature. He points out that any position in WWE is tough because it’s a full time job requiring travel and attending meetings, not to mention working the actual shows.

Nash mentions that he still tries to keep up on WWE’s product, but he records RAW each Monday and watches certain parts the next day. He’s only interested in specific things and specific performers, so he scans through each week’s show and watches the parts that appeal to him.

In regards to the current product, Ross says that he sees a lot of kids playing wrestlers and that’s a concern for him. He also feels that performers are taking a lot of bumps that they don’t need to take. Nash agrees and points out that today’s performers go through their matches move for move before the show starts. Back in the day, the wrestlers knew they wanted to tell a certain story and they’d worry about the rest in the ring.

He adds that he’s been in the wrestling business for 30 years and he’s still out on the road working when he wants to be. He fears that today’s generation will lack that kind of career longevity because so many of today’s performer are taking unnecessary risks that could shorten their career.

Ross asks Nash if he ever had any issue selling for smaller wrestlers, given that he was 7-feet tall. Nash informs that he never had an issue selling for smaller guys, especially if they could work like Shawn Michaels. If his opponents were quick and agile with good looking offence he had no issue selling for them because he thought that could look believable.
