Lillian Garcia is joined on today’s show by Brie Bella.

Garcia asks Brie how her husband, Daniel Bryan reacted to being offered the role of GM for Smackdown Live. Bella informs that receiving that offer was bittersweet for him when he got the phone call from WWE. His number one love in life was taken away when he was told he wouldn’t be able to wrestle anymore and although he was very appreciative of WWE’s offer, he knew it was going to be tough having to be surrounded by it all the time without being able to perform.

Ultimately, Bella informs that Bryan’s happy being back to work in WWE, around all his friends and fellow performers. She informs that Bryan is indeed attempting to make an in-ring return right now, and he has been flying himself all around the country to get tested by different doctors. She adds that most doctors tell him he’s perfectly fine to wrestle, but he’s just waiting on WWE doctors to approve him.

Brie believes that WWE doctors are considering conferencing with the other doctors that have approved Bryan, and that’s why he has so much hope right now that he might be able to return to the ring soon. Both Bryan and her understand that WWE has a lot of legal restrictions holding them back, and the last thing they want to do is put an injured performer back in the ring.

She mentions that she’s fully supportive of Bryan’s quest to return to the ring. Although at first she was hesitant, she realized that she can’t hold this against him because he has so much passion for wrestling and it’d be selfish of her to try to strip him of that passion.

Brie informs that her and Bryan’s daughter, Birdie is six months old now. She had a lengthy labour and things didn’t go quite as planned, but ultimately their daughter was born safe and healthy. She admits that she became quite emotional and depressed after giving birth, and it took her several weeks to get over it. She became very lonely and her and Bryan both felt somewhat trapped in their own little world, trying to figure out how to be parents.

She admits that it was very hard to sacrifice her in-ring career in order to have a child, even though she really wanted to become a mother. WWE’s women’s division was just catching fire when she had to step away, but she has to keep reminding herself that her in-ring career is not gone forever and perhaps she can make a return when Birdie gets a bit older.

In fact, she informs that her and her sister, Nikki plan on making a comeback to WWE in 2018, but her daughter comes first and that will determine when she returns to the ring. She says that she’s getting the itch to return to the ring more and more each day and if her and Bryan can make it work, she’ll definitely be back in a WWE ring again.

Brie talks about Nikki being attacked and grabbed by a sexual predator when she was a teenager. She says that was a terrifying day that she’ll never forget, but those types of things remind you at a young age that the world is a very dangerous place. Her and Nikki have been very cautious about who’s around them in public ever since then, and they’re both determined to never leave themselves vulnerable to predators.

Brie admits that she couldn’t believe how well Nikki did on the recent season of Dancing With the Stars. Brie adds that she wouldn’t mind giving that show a shot as well but she knows she’d be compared to Nikki and given how well Nikki did, that makes her somewhat nervous.

Garcia informs that Brie’s mother will be her guest on next week’s show, and Brie says she can’t wait to hear that interview. She credits her mother, who’s now married to former Smackdown GM John Laurinaitis, with preparing her for the world and raising her the right way.

That sums up this week’s episode of Chasing Glory. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
