Block 1:

A listener calls into the show and asks Taz how WWE plans to keep all their Champions strong when they have multiple Champion versus Champion matches at Survivor Series, and someone has to lose each of these matches. Taz agrees with the caller in the sense that WWE has their hands full when it comes to booking this card.

He points out that we rarely see Champion versus Champion matches on WWE programming or in any other wrestling promotion, because those matches are very tough to book and even tougher to execute. WWE is going to have to come up with a way to beat half of their Champions on Sunday night, without hurting any of them.

Getting into his thoughts on last night’s episode of Smackdown Live, Taz thought the show was good overall, and it was a strong way to lead us into Survivor Series on Sunday night. The moment that sticks out to him from the show was Charlotte capturing the Women’s Title in her hometown of Charlotte and then embracing her father, Ric, at the top of the entrance ramp.

Block 2:

He thought this was a very special moment and he wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. However, after this moment ended, WWE switched right to a graphic which promoted the upcoming match and Taz didn’t think this was a good idea at all. He believes WWE should have went right to commercial after Ric and Charlotte embraced because that was a big moment and they needed to let that breath a bit.

After seeing the way Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were presented last night, Taz doesn’t believe for one second that they actually have heat in the locker room. He’s starting to think that them being sent home from WWE’s overseas tour, as well as the subsequent Twitter dispute between Owens and Orton was completely set up.

Owens and Zayn got plenty of television time last night, featured in both a backstage promo segment as well as in the main event match. He jokes that if those two guys have heat, he wishes he would have had some of that kind of heat when he worked in WWE.

Taz liked the Raw invasion angle at the end of Smackdown Live last night and he really liked that the invasion was executed differently than when Smackdown Live invaded RAW. He also liked that we saw ‘Angry Kurt’ last night, and he believes this version of Kurt Angle is the one that fans will pay to see.  The one thing that Taz was confused about is the fact that we didn’t see Triple H last night.

Blocks 3 & 4:

He says that in complying with the Red vs. Blue brand war, Nakamura really should have avoided wearing red pants last night. Blue or black pants would have been a better choice in Taz’s opinion. He also thought that The Shield’s half red/half Shield shirt was ‘terrible’ and ‘horrible’.

A listener calls into the show and informs that he was live at Smackdown last night. He thinks that WWE’s ring announcer, Greg Hamilton, is trying to make himself bigger than the show with his ‘one fall’ tagline. Taz says that he pointed this out before but he doesn’t think WWE has a problem with Hamilton utilizing this approach to announcing, because if they had an issue with it he wouldn’t be doing it anymore.

Taz assumes that we’ll see Paige return at Survivor Series to replace Charlotte on Smackdown Live’s Survivor Series team. With Charlotte defeating Natalya for the Smackdown Live Women’s Title last night, Smackdown Live is in need of a replacement on their 5-woman team. Taz thinks this is a great spot for Paige to return.

Taz points out that Paige was backstage at RAW on Monday and posted a video/photo to her Instagram, account. He thinks this was all a work to make fans think she’d return to RAW, when WWE planned to have her return as a member of Team Smackdown all along. He knows that these women wouldn’t post those types of things to social media without getting approval.

That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
