Two Huge Attitude Era Stars Considered for Survivor Series Role

It was rumored last week that there are plans to have John Cena as the special guest referee in the main event bout between Jinder Mahal and Brock Lesnar at next month’s Survivor Series event.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon was considering to have either The Rock or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in that role instead of Cena. With The Rock, the issue would be scheduling and how much it would cost.

While Austin is done as a wrestler, Meltzer believes that there’s still the intrigue of Austin and Lesnar in the ring together. Meltzer also said that Mahal would benefit from being in the ring with two big names (Lesnar & the referee).
