Ross asks DiBiase if it bothers him that he was never given a run as NWA or WWE Champion. DiBiase says that there was talks of him getting a run with the WWE Championship around WrestleMania 4 but Pat Patterson approached him at that time and offered an alternative storyline. Patterson suggested that DiBiase should fail to claim the WWE Title which would frustrate him, causing him to create the Million Dollar Championship.
DiBiase loved that idea right away because he knew that would be the best way to get more heat on him for an extended period of time. He always looked at Title belts as a prop and he was more concerned with making money. He understood back then that not winning the WWE Title was best for business.
Ross asks DiBiase about his connection to The Undertaker’s debut nearly three decades ago. DiBiase says that even early on he was always so impressed by The Undertaker’s ability to have great matches while working the slow, ominous style that accompanied that character. Ross adds that throughout his lengthy career, Undertaker has taken a crazy amount of bumps for a big man.
