O’Neil informs that his mother was a rape victim at the age of 11, and gave birth to him at age 12. Most people in her life at that time suggested that she abort the baby but she chose not to. Due to the small age difference, O’Neil was raised basically as his mother’s brother, and he didn’t know the truth about his mother until he was 17 years old.
It was a challenging childhood for O’Neil because he lacked true role models and his mother and him fought often. Nowadays O’Neil appreciates how lucky he was to succeed in life and it’s his goal to make sure that his children have great role models.
O’Neil points out that a lot of celebrities have an excess of money and while charitable donations are terrific, he challenges those celebrities to get involved in social programs where they can develop relationships with young individuals who really need personal reinforcement. Instead of donating $100,00, he suggests that celebrities donate $10,000 and use the other $90,000 to foster helpful programs within their communities.
