Ryback is joined on today’s show by his co-host Phoenix Marie.
Ryback opens today’s show talking about the time he did Steve Austin’s podcast. He says that he met Austin backstage before a show one night and Austin asked him, “Are you ready?” Ryback had no idea what he was talking about because WWE officials hadn’t told him that he was going to be a guest on Austin’s podcast after the event was over.
Ryback was excited because he loves Austin and he considered it a great compliment to be asked to appear on Austin’s show. However, he does wish that someone would have told him about it because after a long day of travelling and then working a show he was ready for bed. Nonetheless, he says that Austin is an icon, and the numbers that Austin produced alongside The Rock during the attitude era will likely never be matched.
A listener writes into the show and asks Ryback if he had an exit plan prior to leaving WWE. He admits that when he would meet with Vince McMahon early in his career he’d always tell him that he wanted to be a lifelong employee of WWE. As the years progressed he started to think about things differently and he started to think about life after WWE.
