Wade Keller recently said that WWE has botched Nakamura, and they should have kept him as a special attraction. Gilbertti says there’s not a chance Nakamura is ‘special attraction’ material. Guys like Brock Lesnar and Goldberg are special attractions, and Nakamura doesn’t resemble those guys to say the least. He also believes it’s hard to blame WWE for Nakamura’s lacklustre main roster run thus far because the language barrier is a real issue for him.
Bret Hart had some negative things to say about Eric Bischoff last week, even referring to him as a ‘maggot’ at one point. Russo has no idea what the issues are between those two guys but it’s obvious that Hart was never happy with the way that Bischoff used him in WCW.
Gilbertti points out that Bischoff was just concerned with hurting Vince McMahon at that time and that’s why he paid so much money to bring Hart into WCW. In all fairness to Bischoff, he may have never intended to consistently use Hart in the main event picture in WCW.
Gilbertti says that Hart’s work was always so believable and his matches always looked like real fights. Russo adds that Hart doesn’t get enough credit for his promo work. Everyone knows how good Hart was in the ring but he also considers Hart to be one of the most underrated talkers in the history of the business.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
