Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Glenn Gilbertti (Disco Inferno).
Lane points out that Impact Wrestling recently launched their subscription-based Network, where for $7.99 a month, people can have access to the entire TNA/GFW/Impact catalogue of content. Russo points out that he hasn’t signed any type of waiver or royalty contract for the footage of him that’s on the Network. Gilbertti says he hasn’t signed anything either but he’s not really worried about it because the royalties from that Network certainly isn’t going to get anyone rich.
Russo and Gilbertti discuss WWE’s firing of Jimmy Jacobs. Gilbertti mentions that it’s one thing to meet with your friends in private, but publicly embracing a rival company’s talent outside of a WWE building is just not going to be tolerated by Vince McMahon. He also adds that if WCW talent would have went outside to take pictures with DX during that iconic attitude era invasion, Eric Bischoff would have fired those guys right on the spot as well.
Russo points out that it might be petty of WWE to fire Jacobs in this case and Gilbertti admits that perhaps a suspension would have been a better choice.
