The last week has most certainly been one to remember for Baron Corbin. He won the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell. Then he defeated AJ Styles in his first successful title defense. Corbin has a lot of momentum going forward.
But to where does he ride this momentum? Who is next to stand up to the Lone Wolf? There’s a dearth of babyfaces over on the blue brand, due to heel turns that already happened (Sami Zayn) or that are yet to happen (Bobby Roode). Who is left to challenge Corbin for the United States Championship?
Tye Dillinger
Yes, Baron Corbin pinned Tye Dillinger to win the United States Championship. Still, it wouldn’t be hard to reinsert him back into the title picture. Have him win a battle royal or a triple threat or something. It’s easy to book.
It’s also easy to paint the feud as an “unfinished business” type of deal. Corbin pinned Dillinger, yes, but Dillinger also beat Corbin. Boom. Feud booked.
The duo have an underrated chemistry in the ring, methinks. They gave us solid matches on TV. On a PPV, I think they could really have a great match. While it most certainly won’t be Undertaker – Shawn Michaels 3.0, it will be a fun, exciting watch, which is more than can be said for the WWE Championship matches.
The feud musn’t go on too long, though. Logically, it should be a 2 month affair at most.
