In a similar turn of events, The Shield attacked Braun Strowman on this show, which had three babyfaces attacking one heel. Just like the issue with Amore’s booking, this psychology doesn’t make any sense in Russo’s opinion. Lane also points out that the only motivation The Shield has for attacking Strowman is that Strowman beat Rollins and Ambrose clean on back to back weeks in the middle of the ring.
Russo says Mickie James continues to get more attractive week after week. He would love to see James get one more Title run in WWE because she’s still great in the ring and she’s also one of the best talkers in the Women’s division. Bolin points out that his favourite female competitor, Asuka, is about to make her main roster debut and he’s very much looking forward to that.
Russo says the best thing on WWE television this past week was Bray Wyatt’s transformation into Sister Abigail. He does think there were some subtleties about it that could have been improved but this was a segment that he could get behind. Unfortunately, Finn Balor’s subsequent backstage promo nearly wiped away all the good work that Wyatt did earlier in the show.
