Jinder Mahal’s reign as WWE champion has now surpassed AJ Styles’ 140 day title reign following his victory over Shinsuke Nakamura at Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell event.

It remains to be seen who Mahal defends his WWE Championship against next, but we noted earlier today that Styles may be next in line. Original plans were for Mahal to hold onto the belt until WrestleMania next year, where he is now being rumored to drop the title to John Cena. A victory for Cena at WrestleMania would be a big deal, as he would surpass Ric Flair’s 16 title wins record.
