O’Brien considers himself to be a pretty knowledgeable fan of professional wrestling but one thing really surprised him while he was doing research for this book. O’Brien was able to speak with Paul Heyman for several hours and he couldn’t believe just how much love and admiration Heyman has for Ross. Heyman even got choked up while discussing how much he appreciates everything Ross did for him early in his career.
Ross says he will look back at this book as a sign of a very emotional time in his life, but he’s glad they pushed through and finished the project. He says that the book touches on a couple of things that were tough for him to talk about such as prescription drug use and struggling as a father. He recalls working every day of the week for WWE at a time when it was a pain in his ass just to go home for Christmas. He realizes how sick and sad that is to say, but that’s the way it was.
O’Brien informs that his novel series, “Blood Red Turns Dollar Green”, has been a tremendous success and he believes there is significant potential in turning this into a drama series. He hints that the ‘right people’ may be interesting in making that happen sometime soon, adding, “…if you can smell what I’m cooking.”
That sums up today’s episode of The Ross Report. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
