Edge and Christian open today’s show speaking about the No Mercy PPV. Edge feels that John Cena truly passed the torch to Roman Reigns last Sunday night, not just for a year or two, but for good. He also says that in spite of what some people might say, The Miz is good, and he’s been good for an awfully long time. Christian says Miz is a personal friend of his and even when he does something poorly, rather than deny it, he strives to learn how to improve that part of his presentation.
Edge and Christian agree that WWE is guilty of doing too much too soon with Jason Jordan. Edge feels WWE should have let him build longer with Chad Gable, until the fans were really asking for a singles push. Christian agrees and says that while being linked to Kurt Angle is great in some ways, that’s also a very large burden to carry because he will now forever be compared to Angle in the ring.
Edge loves Sheamus and Cesaro. He thought those guys had a great match with Rollins and Ambrose at No Mercy, and he credits Cesaro’s toughness. Christian was somewhat bothered by the top rope powerbomb spot, because that high impact move probably should have ended the match. Instead, Ambrose was up shortly thereafter. Edge didnt mind it because Ambrose sells great throughout the majority of his matches and his character is a ‘tough guy’.
