Ryback loved the match between John Cena and Roman Reigns at No Mercy. He thought those guys told a great story, and he has always said that Cena is a terrific storyteller in the ring. Ryback would prefer that finishing moves weren’t prostituted as much as they are today, but this is a trend that has been developing in the business over the last several years. In spite of Cena over-utilizing his ‘AA’, Ryback really enjoyed this match.
Speaking about the main event Universal Title match between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, Ryback thought these guys were put in a tough position. He actually enjoyed the match, but after all the false finishes in the matches that preceded this one, one F5 to Strowman resulted in what felt like a flat finish.
Apart from that, he thought these two big guys had a great, physical match and they did a good job of making Lesnar look vulnerable. He does wish that Strowman, The Monster Amongst Men, would have shown more frustration and aggression after the match on Sunday, instead of leaning on the announce table looking sad.
Ryback thinks that Enzo Amore is talented enough to pull of his recent heel turn. Rumours are still circling that Amore has nuclear heat backstage, but he still has a unique connectivity with the WWE Universe. He’s interested in watching Amore’s character continue to develop on 205 Live in the coming weeks.
