Magnus isn’t sure why, but Sting was a huge advocate for him in TNA. Sting would often push for Magnus to be included in more important storylines and was a huge part in bridging the gap between Magnus and Eric Bischoff. Sting ultimately made the decision to have Magnus defeat him by making him tap out in the middle of the ring, and Magnus says he’ll never forget that.
Magnus informs that he eventually left TNA because they didn’t have the financial resources to match his contract. Whether he believed it to be true or not, he often leveraged interest from WWE when trying to get more money in TNA.
Since leaving TNA, he admits to being somewhat surprised about the lack of interest from WWE. In spite of ringing endorsements from Sting, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and others, WWE appears to be uninterested in him. He’s been told by a trustworthy source that WWE’s lack of interest in him stems from one former TNA employee who now works in WWE’s front office, and has been burying him regularly.
X-Pac says that’s unfortunate, but he still believes that Magnus will eventually end up in WWE. He’s a great, young performer who still has a lot to give to the business of professional wrestling.
That sums up today’s episode of X-Pac 1, 2, 360. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
