Ross opens today’s show by informing that his book, ‘Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling’ will be released next Tuesday. He says that this book has been over two years in the making, and a lot of things have changed in the time spanning the beginning and end of this project. He’s very proud of the book, and he believes all of his fans will enjoy it.
Ross thought that No Mercy was a solid show. He thought the entire main event storyline featuring Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar was very strong heading into the PPV, but a lot of fans were dissapointed in how that match played out on Sunday night. In Ross’ opinion, a lot of fans were upset that Lesnar pinned Strowman after only one F5, but the prostitution of finishing moves are a huge problem in wrestling right now. Even though the finish might have felt flat, it was refreshing to see Lesnar’s finish protected here.
He goes on to say that Roman Reigns and John Cena told a great story during their match, and the tag team Title match between Sheamus/Cesaro and Rollins/Ambrose was very good as well. He was also fond of the match between Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt, and he believes Balor will challenge Lesnar for the Universal Title sometime between now and WrestleMania, when Lesnar appears to be destined for a match against Reigns.
