Buck mentions that betting sites are reportedly considering dropping the option to bet on WWE events moving forward. Ryback laughs and says that’s one thing he could never understand. How did these sites think it was a good idea to offer betting on scripted events? He said he could realistically text Road Dogg an hour before a show, get all the finishes to the matches and then make thousands of dollars betting on it. It just doesn’t make sense to him.
Speaking about the Universal Title match at No Mercy, Ryback says that putting the Title on Strowman would have made a new top star. He also thinks that Lesnar could have been built back up at any point they saw fit in the future. Nonetheless, he knows that Strowman is beat up physically because he saw it even when he was still working with the company, so perhaps WWE isn’t sold on putting the Title on Strowman right now.
Ryback comments on the backlash WWE received for Jinder Mahal’s ‘racist’ promo on Smackdown Live last week. He hopes that WWE continues this style of promo for Mahal because when you get good heat you continue it, you don’t stop it. In this over-sensitized world that we now live in, WWE has found a way to step right on the line without going over, and Ryback thinks it’s great.
Buck mentions that Ric Flair will reportedly quit drinking following his recent health scare. Ryback says that would be a significant development for the 16-time World Champion, but Flair is a very strong-willed individual who can do anything he sets his mind to.
That sums up today’s episode of Conversation with the Big Guy. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya next week for another recap!
