Blocks 3 & 4:
At another point in the email, WWE suggested they might consider bringing back ECW-like programming, geared toward a more mature audience. Taz definitely thinks fans would approve of this idea, and overall he likes that WWE reached out to their audience like this, in order to get an idea of what their audience wants to see.
Taz just hopes that WWE doesn’t charge too much for the higher tiers in their Network programming, and if they do embrace the tiered system, the more expensive tiers need to have content that is unlike anything on the $9.99 level. Some of these new ideas would certainly accomplish that.
He continues by saying that if WWE plans on filming Game of Thrones-type shows for the Network, or showcasing ROH and Impact Wrestling, that’s going to cost significant sums of money. It’s one thing to decide to produce these shows and bolster the Network but it’s also a significant investment, and WWE needs to be sure that they can make a return on these investments or they won’t go forward with them.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
