Block 2:
Taz says he enjoyed Shane McMahon’s promo that opened last night’s episode of Smackdown Live. He says that Shane knows the business of professional wrestling like the back of his hand, and he did a great job of selling his hatred of Kevin Owens in this promo. The only thing Taz would have changed about this segment was the way the commentary team reacted after Shane’s promo ended.
Taz thought the commentary team used cliche lines to hype the match after Shane’s promo, when they should have really sold how personal this feud has become. Shane is coming to the defence of his 72-year old father, who also happens to be the CEO of the company. There’s no way they should have just treated this like any other match.
He adds that silence probably would have been better than what the commentators actually said after that promo ended. Taz recalls approaching Vince McMahon when he was working as a colour commentator, suggesting that he lay out after a certain segment to make the segment feel even more real and important. 99% of the time McMahon would agree with him, and Taz felt this would have been a good choice after Shane’s promo last night.
