He says that McMahon couldn’t care less about bringing attention to WCW, because everyone knows that he eventually bought WCW. All of those old WCW shows are a part of history, and once McMahon bought the company, they became a part of WWE’s history.
Lawler welcomes Terry Funk to the show.
Funk and Lawler will be battling in a 6-man tag team match this coming weekend, and Funk comes on today’s show in full character, insulting both Lawler and Moore.
Lawler says it has been two years since they were in the ring together and he was lucky enough to emerge victorious last time, finishing the match by setting Funk on fire. Funk says he still struggles to grow hair on one side of his head due to that attack, and he’ll never forgive Lawler for that.
Lawler asks Funk why he continues to make in-ring returns after retiring from the business on several occasions. Funk says that he genuinely intended to retire from in-ring action every time he announced his retirement, but after some time away from the business he needed to get back in the ring again. He says he keeps returning because of his love of the profession, and of course his hatred of Lawler.
