Hausman asks Bischoff for his reaction to the return of Starrcade, and Bischoff says he was very glad to hear that WWE is reprising the Starrcade PPV. He thinks this is a smart move for WWE, and he doesn’t see any negatives in WWE reprising some of the better branded WCW PPVs such as Starrcade, Halloween Havoc and Bash at the Beach.
Bischoff comments on the final segment of Smackdown Live last week, when Kevin Owens headbutted Vince McMahon. Bischoff says that he’s sure McMahon told Owens to lay in that headbutt and make it look good, and McMahon would probably rather Owens crack his skull than hold back and have the headbutt look soft.
Bischoff continues by saying that this definitely put Owens in an unenviable position. He had no choice but to legitimately headbutt his boss, the 72-year-old CEO of the company, on live television because if he didn’t make it look good, McMahon definitely would have been furious.
Hausman asks Bischoff if he thinks WWE is doing the right thing by bringing Paige back into the fold. Bischoff says that if he were to bring Paige back as an in-ring competitor, he’d have to make sure that she’s stable emotionally and mentally. It’s not an insult to say that drama has followed her recently and since she’s still very young, that’s not unexpected. However, WWE doesn’t need that type of drama so hopefully all of that silliness is behind her.
