Block 3:
Taz welcomes Mike Johnson from PWInsider to the show.
Johnson informs that WWE have announced that they will be running a show under the ‘Starrcade’ banner in November. Johnson informs that Charlotte Flair will be challenging Natalya for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship at this show in a steel cage match. The Rock N’ Roll Express and Ricky Steamboat have all been advertised for this event as well.
Johnson thinks WWE would have to be crazy to not make this show a Network Special. Taz agrees 100% and he believes we’ll hear that announcement in the near future. Cody Rhodes appears to be somewhat upset that WWE is running this show now, but refused to do so while Dusty Rhodes was still alive. Michael ‘PS’ Hayes then tweeted an invitation to Rhodes, asking him to show up for the event to tag with his brother, Goldust.
Johnson and Taz are very intrigued to see how this plays out. Taz thinks it’d be very cool to see Cody show up to this event with the ROH World Title, but he’d be surprised to see Cody lose on this show. Johnson agrees and says he plans on asking ROH COO Joe Koff if he’d allow Cody to appear at this WWE event.
Johnson mentions that according to GFW’s new press release, the company has changed it’s name back to ‘Impact Wrestling’. Johnson reached out to executives within the company for clarification but they appeared to be reluctant to admit the name change. Johnson also informs that Jim Cornette is apparently done with the company.
