Blocks 1& 2:
Taz opens todays’s show by informing that this will be a shortened episode, due to CBS needing the studio for another show earlier than expected.
Taz dives right into speaking about the vacant NXT Women’s Championship. He says he likes what they’re doing with that Title creatively right now, as there will be a Fatal 4-way match at the next Takeover event in Houston to determine the new Women’s Champion. The winner of the Mae Young Classic already has one of those four spots locked down.
Taz initially thought NXT would set up a tournament to determine the new Women’s Championship, but he likes that they didn’t take the easy way out by doing that. In lieu of a tournament they’ve set up two triple threat matches, with the winner of each match earning a spot in the Fatal 4-way as well. That leaves one spot leftover.
He likes that the Mae Young Classic winner, Kairi Sane, is inserted right into this match as one of the four competitors. She needs to have a major spotlight on her now after winning the inaugural tournament, and there’s no better way to do that than inserting her right into the NXT Women’s Championship picture.
