If Russo was booking, he would have booked the Reigns promo to suggest that maybe Cena is taking performance enhancing drugs as well, given how good he looks at his age. Reigns could have also suggested that WWE has protected Cena from the drug tests over the years.
Russo gives WWE credit for finally booking Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar on the same show. However, he couldn’t understand how Strowman embarrassed Lesnar fairly early in the show, but then Lesnar didn’t run back out for revenge on Strowman during his match against John Cena. Russo has no idea how WWE could book this because in a real life scenario, there’s no way Lesnar wouldn’t have re-emereged later in the show.
He says that WWE really could have made the match between Goldust and Bray Wyatt matter. Goldust is an iconic character who has a plethora of old footage that could have been utilized to promote a match against Wyatt. They could have started to tease it last week and then paid off the match this week but instead, Goldust just played the role of a jobber, and that’s all there is to say about it.
Russo has no idea how WWE managed to convert Seth Rollins from a main event talent to a mid-carder. Only a couple of years ago WWE put an enormous amount of time and money into building Rollins as a main-eventer, but here we are two years later and he’s in a tag team. Russo says this would be the same as Steve Austin transitioning from the heights of his push during the attitude era into a tag team with Ken Shamrock.
