Lawler says that he has watched the footage from RAW that evening, and it’s a pretty incredible thing to watch yourself lying there, medically deceased. He thought Michael Cole did a terrific job handling the show that evening and putting his emotions aside in order to get through the remainder of the show.
Moore mentions that he was watching RAW that night, and he and Lawler had been friends for a couple of years at that point. It was very difficult for him to watch that show while he was unaware of Lawler’s condition, and it was a very comforting when he finally heard from Lawler.
Lawler says he hasn’t changed his diet or anything as a result of the cardiac arrest. The doctors declared his heart perfectly healthy, and the arrest didn’t result in any damage to his heart. His first meal after waking up in the hospital was actually a huge steak dinner because that’s what he requested and the doctors approved it.
Lawler welcomes Dr. Michael Sampson to the show. Sampson was the WWE physician working that night who was partially responsible for saving Lawler’s life.
