World Cup
WWE has seemingly made it their mission over the last couple of years to begin recruiting some of the best talents from all over the world. The rise of stars like Jinder Mahal (Yes, he is Canadian, but that isn’t how he’s marketed), Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka in NXT and more recently Saira Kane in the Mae Young Classic has shown that the company are now willing to invest seriously in overseas stars, as opposed to just making them gimmick based characters.
Imagine how much success the company could have if it decided to host an international wrestler’s world cup tournament. With Indie wrestling currently in something of a golden age, the talent they could recruit would be exceptional. Countries like England and Japan have a whole host of incredible wrestlers who could perform, and Meixo is always rich with awesome performers.
The idea was actually recently done by the British indie company, WCPW, and while their tournament was pretty damn good- you can’t help but think that the WWE could pull off something quite spectacular with the concept.
