Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Russo says he liked the open of Monday Night RAW this week, and he specifically liked the match between John Cena and Jason Jordan. He thought it was very good booking to show the old footage of Cena challenging Kurt Angle, and he thought both men worked well together in the match. After the match concluded, Roman Reigns came out and that was a great hook as they went into commercial.
He thought Cena and Reigns had another serviceable in-ring promo segment this week, but the best parts of the promo were the ad-libbed banter between the two men. Other than that, the segment transitioned back into a regular, old, cookie-cutter wrestling promo. He also doesn’t understand why there was no hook leading us into the next commercial. Just because you did it well to start the show doesn’t mean you get to stop for the rest of the show.
Russo also points out that if you’re over the age of 12 and chanting ‘What?’ at a WWE event, you’re a loser. He says that the ‘What?’ chant was the worst thing that Steve Austin ever did, in fact it might be the only bad thing that Austin ever did.
