Blocks 3 & 4:
Getting back to some announcing blunders in this show, Taz says that babyfaces cannot be buried by announce teams. When No Way Jose came out and called out Sullivan, Nigel McGuiness bashed him which is fine as a heel announcer. However, since Jose was in the ring unable to defend himself from McGuiness’ verbal attacks, the babyface announcers need to defend him.
The heel announcers also need to be very careful how they criticize the babyface performers because the end goal is to always get the babyfaces over. Taz says this isn’t rocket science, and it should be common sense for these guys to know this stuff. However, maybe they need someone in their ears producing them to protect the babyfaces because they’re failing to do so right now.
Taz thinks that NXT has done a poor job of building their new Champion, Drew McIntyre. Taz says that McIntyre is a new Champion and he’s an ass kicker, so NXT needs to galvanize him as their top guy. Taz feels that McIntyre really needed to get a receipt on Adam Cole and company this week, or he should have at least made a strong statement.
Taz says if he had to pick one female talent to push in NXT right now, he’d pick Sonya Deville. He believes Deville has a great look, a look that fits her character and gimmick. He also believes her work rate is very good, and she’s ready to take the next step in NXT.
He gives credit to Triple H for managing to restock the talent cupboards in NXT following the departure of the Four Horsewomen. The Women’s Division in NXT is in great shape, and it’ll be interesting to see who becomes the next Champion.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
