Former WWE employee Shelly Martinez tweeted out last week, accusing Vince McMahon of sleeping with his female talent in return for giving them a push. Gilbertti says there’s nothing to this story until someone presents some facts, but Russo says he believes Martinez because ‘she’s his girl’. He’s intrigued as to which girls Martinez might be referring to in this tweet.
Lane points out that GFW has agreed to a new television deal with PopTV which runs through 2018. Russo is actually surprised by this news, but he points out that you can actually buy television time if you’re desperate enough to stay visible and relevant. However, Russo doesn’t believe that GFW bought their television time.
He points out that all television networks need programming, and GFW provides PopTV with 2 hours of programming every week. He doubts that this contract pays GFW very much money, but it’s a television deal nonetheless. He considers this a win-win for both parties involved.
Gilbertti says he thought the Mayweather/Mcgregor fight was very entertaining. He doesn’t believe that McGregor ever really had a chance, but Mayweather made it entertaining nonetheless.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
