A clip of Bryan Alvarez presents him discussing the Reigns/Cena promo from RAW last Monday. Alvarez felt that Cena was jumping down Reigns’ throat, and was basically burying him. Russo says that Alvarez is a backyard wrestler who thinks like a backyard wrestler. Alvarez’s hatred for Cena is obvious, but Russo knows what Cena was trying to do here.
Cena was simply trying to make Reigns better, by raising the stakes and making Reigns react in the moment. Cena has proven in the recent past that he has no issues putting people over, losing prominent feuds against the likes of A.J. Styles and Kevin Owens. Cena was not trying to bury Reigns, he was trying to help him in Russo’s opinion.
A clip of Wade Keller presents him sharing his opinion that this is not a farewell tour for John Cena, but rather a sprint to earn the respect of hardcore fans and dirt sheet writers. Russo says this is the most delusional statement he has ever heard, and he can’t believe the balls Keller has to even say such a thing. Russo says that Cena doesn’t give a crap about Keller’s opinion.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
