Block 1:
A listener calls into the show and says in his opinion, the Cruiserweight division is hampered by a number of issues. First and foremost, the talents probably feel like they’ve been cast off to an island of misfit toys, and this caller believes that the cruiserweight competitors should be able to mingle with Superstars from RAW and Smackdown Live.
Taz disagrees entirely with this opinion, because he feels it’s essential that the cruiserweight talents are branded as their own separate entity. If the cruiserweight talents begin competing against RAW and Smackdown Live Superstars, they just become part of another match on another wrestling show. More often than not, those guys would just be losing to the likes of Randy Orton or Roman Reigns.
The caller goes on to say that he doesn’t believe there should be any reason that the cruiserweights can’t compete against the likes of Finn Balor or Sami Zayn, but Taz shuts that down immediately by saying it will simply never happen. The caller also says that if WWE were to re-hire Rey Mysterio they’d likely assign him to 205 Live, but Taz isn’t so sure they would since Mysterio is a former World Champion.
