Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Russo says he thought WWE was taking major strides forward over the last few weeks, including SummerSlam which he thought was a good show. Unfortunately this week’s programming took a giant leap backwards and other than John Cena’s genius, there’s nothing to really talk about this week.
He felt like the first hour of RAW really dragged on, and the Battle Royal felt particularly long. Jeff Hardy won which he thought was a nice surprise, but overall there’s nothing new to really talk about here.
Paul Heyman came out to the ring with Brock Lesnar and cut another promo that we’ve all seen before. He says it’s impossible for him to watch Heyman giving a promo now without picturing him as an animated character.
Russo wonders why Braun Strowman wasn’t on this show. He says that hopefully Strowman had prior commitments because there’s no excuse for not having him on this show. The more realistic scenario is that Lesnar was on this show and WWE Creative didn’t know how to book both of them on the same show, and Russo thinks that’s sad.
