John Cena vs The Undertaker – The Undertaker’s Last Ride
This is a controversial topic. Should The Undertaker come back? Should he officially be retired? Was Roman Reigns the right choice? Was it the best way for the Phenom to go out? In my opinion yes, no, no and no. The Undertaker is the greatest of all time. Mark Callaway’s dedication to both WWE and the character of The Undertaker is unparalleled. His aura, his in ring ability, his entrance, his streak, among other things make him the greatest. Going out in a lacklustre match is not the way for him to go. WWE must build up to Taker’s last match and capitalise on his legend as well as celebrating one of the biggest legends in sports and entertainment history. There is no better opponent to join The Undertaker on that last ride than John Cena.
These men have crossed paths in the past yes, however these two men – especially Cena – are far different performers from what they once were. Cena has been knocking out match of the year candidates for years now and is well capable of carrying Undertaker to a far better match than every opponent of his since CM Punk. Cena has name dropped Taker multiple times this year. He clearly wants to face the Deadman and it will be in WWE’s best interest. While Taker leaving his gear in the ring was a fantastic sight and may seem sacred, WWE have the chance to do something better, bigger and more fitting for Undertaker. Go any story route you want just give The Undertaker the end off he deserves. Only if he wants it, if not forget everything you read and move on.
