Lilian Garcia opens today’s show by talking about her first night on the job as a ring announcer in WWE. She says she was thrown into the fire that night replacing a legend in Howard Finkle, and she was terribly nervous. She wrote all of the information she needed to say for each match down on cue cards, and only an hour before the show started she was told she couldn’t use cue cards.
She began to panic and admits that she almost ran out of the building that evening. She decided to stay and although she made several mistakes, everything was okay and she remained with the company for 15 years. She wonders how different her life would have turned out if she would have ran out of the building that evening.
Garcia welcomes Sheamus to the show.
Sheamus admits that the travel is tough as a WWE employee, but he wouldn’t trade this profession for anything in the world. There’s nothing he’d rather do than perform in front of the WWE Universe night after night, and that makes all the travel more than worth it.
He informs that he started training at the Monster Factory in 2004 after getting some advice from Bret Hart. Unfortunately, he hurt his neck fairly early on in his training and he moved back to Ireland and began working in the I.T. industry. He knew he didn’t really give wrestling a proper go the first time around, so he had to try again.
