Block 4:
Taz liked that Kevin Owens stole the ref shirt during the Sami Zayn/Aiden English match because he thought this was original and very entertaining. He can’t remember the last time he’s seen something like that.
He says that Dolph Ziggler’s promo sounded awful familiar tonight, because it’s the common thread for each heel character on WWE’s programming such as Owens and The Miz. These guys continuously moan about how they’re not given the opportunity to be as high on the card as they should be, and Taz feels bad for the talents because they simply need fresh material.
A listener calls into the show and says he believes WWE’s programming will be better when Vince McMahon retires and Triple H takes over full creative control. Taz points out that the time constraints in NXT forces you to write a better show because you need to get people over in shorter periods of time. 5 hours each week of WWE programming is a lot, and sometimes less is more.
He goes on to say that Vince McMahon’s work ethic is unparalleled, and he would never disrespect him by agreeing with this caller in saying the product is going to improve once he retires. McMahon works very hard to get his talents over and continue to build his brand, and regardless of what fans think, his goal is to entertain the WWE Universe.
That sums up today’s episode of The Taz Show. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
